About We Rock the Spectrum North Miami

Chanel is a native Floridian and moved to New York when she was a child, where she met and married her wonderful husband Sam. They started a family and have two amazing children Alice and Abraham (Abie).

After enduring Covid in New York and seeing the devastating effects of their children being stuck indoors, they decided to move (back) to South Florida in 2020. Initially, they planned on it being a “temporary 1-2 year experience” since schools in NY were closed. However, after experiencing the beautiful weather and the wonderful resources Florida had to offer, they decided to make the move permanent.

Shortly after arriving in Florida, Chanel and her children had their first experience at a local We Rock The Spectrum Gym and immediately they felt at home. A place where she never had to say “I’m sorry”? This couldn’t be real!

Having 2 children that have both had their own developmental challenges, Chanel understood the necessity for a place like this. Alice & Abie are the driving force behind the start of this gym and she feels so lucky to be able to share this with her community. After spending years navigating the world of having children with special needs, she truly feels that all the knowledge she’s gained was meant to be shared with other families. WRTS North Miami is a place where inclusion will be encouraged and celebrated. A place where parents can finally take a breather and relax while their children can explore and have fun in a safe and enriching environment. WRTS North Miami will be a place where ALL families with ALL abilities can come together and learn through play.
